Olga Tkachenko graduated with an MSci and BA in Natural Sciences (Biochemistry) from the University of Cambridge in 2013 and went on to obtain a PhD in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry from the University of Oxford. She joined the medical devices team at the European Commission in December 2017, where she works as a Policy Officer. Her responsibilities include various aspects of in vitro diagnostic medical devices, borderline products and classification, collaboration with the Joint Research Centre for establishment of EU reference laboratories and steering the COMBINE programme, as well as a horizontal role in the European Commission’s initiative to revise the medical devices Regulations.
